An Experienced Trainer
I have had a deep love for dogs throughout my life, and I value every moment I get to spend with them. Over the years, my dogs and I have trained in a wide variety of dog sports. These include Obedience, Conformation, Rally Obedience, Agility, Musical Freestyle, Tracking, Scent Detection and Trick Training.
I have had a broad range of experiences which have given me a great deal of practical experience in the day-to-day challenges you may be facing. Through my many years as a dog walker, I had opportunities to experience a lot of common concerns. These include the pain when a dog is constantly pulling on leash, and the embarrassment when a dog is barking and lunging at other people or dogs. I was able to work through these and many other issues with dogs of many breeds, shapes and sizes. I also spent several years working at a veterinary hospital, where I had many chances to observe dogs' reactions in a very stressful environment, and learned how to help them relax and feel comfortable. Since 2013, I have taught classes at my local obedience club. This has given me the opportunity to work with a number of dogs at the same time, helping them to deal with the distraction of other dogs, both in class and in real life.
Rooted in the use of positive, force-free approaches, my training methods incorporate the most up-to-date, research-based strategies. I collaborate with each client to determine the best plan for them, and the physical and emotional well-being of every dog is always a priority. I also make point of being supportive by thoroughly explaining every exercise, as well as offering insights into what their dog is learning and experiencing.
